Not sure if PEMF is right for your dog? Here are five signs that your pup could really benefit from a session.
People ask us all the time: "How do I know if my dog actually needs PEMF?" Fair question. It's not like your dog can tell you their hips are bothering them. But they do tell you, just not with words. Here are five things to watch for.
1. They're Slow to Get Up
If your dog used to pop up from a nap and now takes a few seconds to unfold themselves, that's stiffness. It might look minor, but it often indicates joint inflammation or muscle tightness that's been building. Morning stiffness that improves throughout the day is a classic sign.
2. They've Stopped Doing Things They Used to Love
Maybe they don't jump on the bed anymore. Maybe they stand at the bottom of the stairs and wait for you. Maybe they're not as excited about fetch. Dogs don't quit activities because they're bored. They quit because something hurts.
3. You Notice a Limp or Uneven Gait
Even a subtle limp or a slightly off gait is worth paying attention to. Dogs compensate incredibly well, so what you see is usually just the tip of the iceberg. A slight head bob when walking, shorter steps on one side, or a bunny-hopping rear gait all point to discomfort.
4. They're Restless at Night
A dog that can't get comfortable, constantly repositioning, panting, or pacing at night, might be dealing with pain that's worse when they're lying still. This is something owners often chalk up to anxiety or age, but it's frequently pain-related.
5. They're Grumpy About Being Touched
If your normally cuddly dog flinches, turns away, or even growls when you touch a certain area, that's pain. Dogs who snap when their hips are touched aren't being "bad." They're telling you something. Listen.
If any of this sounds familiar, PEMF therapy could make a real difference. It's gentle, non-invasive, and most dogs genuinely relax during sessions. We've seen dogs go from stiff and reluctant to trotting out of here like they lost five years. It doesn't work miracles, but it works.
